What we do

One product to start: SMB Insights.

You bring a spreadsheet export from your till, booking system or accounting tool. We turn it into answers.

1

Upload what you already have

Drop in a CSV. We work out which columns are dates, money and categories, and show you what we found before anything is saved.

  • No setup, no technical skills
  • You review it before it is saved
  • Your original file is kept safe
.CSV Review and confirm datedate productcategory quantitynumber revenuemoney

2

See what matters

Totals, trends, rankings, and what is growing or slipping. Higher plans add early-warning flags, where your revenue is concentrated, and which customers keep coming back.

  • Change versus last month and last year
  • Your best and weakest performers
  • A plain sentence under every chart
Revenue by product 80% Top 9 of 12 products = 85%

3

Ask in your own words

Type a question and get an answer built from your own numbers, with a chart. If your data cannot answer it, it says so instead of guessing.

  • Answers come from your computed numbers
  • Honest when the data is missing
  • Never financial or legal advice
What is my profit margin? Your file has no cost column, so I cannot work out profit margin. Add one and I can, or ask me about revenue, quantity or top products. Ask about your data...

Features

Every feature, explained without the jargon.

You do not need to know what a "KPI" or a "Pareto chart" is. Here is what each part of SMB Insights means, and what it does for you.

Basic

See where you stand

Free forever. The essentials every owner should check.

KPI Overview

What it means: A KPI is simply a number that tells you how the business is doing, such as total sales or number of orders.

For you: Your headline numbers on one screen, each with an arrow showing whether it is up or down compared with the same time last year. You choose which ones to show.

Trends

What it means: One number tracked over time, by year, month or week.

For you: See at a glance whether you are growing, slowing down or just having a seasonal dip, with the percentage change from the period before.

Rankings

What it means: A top-5, top-10 or top-20 list, for example your best-selling products.

For you: Know your stars straight away: best sellers, biggest customers, busiest categories. Rank by sales, orders or quantity.

Breakdowns

What it means: Your total split into slices, such as sales by category or by how people paid.

For you: See your mix. How much comes from food versus drinks, cash versus cards, regulars versus walk-ins.

Medium

Spot what is changing

Early warnings and clues, before small problems become big ones.

Growth Leaders and Laggards

What it means: Which items are rising fastest, and which are falling, compared with the same time last year.

For you: Catch a new winner early, and notice a once-popular item fading before it hurts you. Tiny items are ignored so a small base does not show a misleading "+400%".

Performance Spread

What it means: An average can look healthy while hiding big gaps underneath. This shows the gap.

For you: See the range from best to worst, how many items are above or below average, and who leads and lags. It explains why your average is what it is.

Risks

What it means: Warning flags on items that are declining, have not sold for a while, or barely add to your sales.

For you: A short list of things to look at, such as products with no sales in 60 days. It raises the question, it does not decide for you. Check your margins before dropping anything.

Nudges

What it means: A gentle prompt: one plain sentence about the most important thing we found.

For you: No digging required. Short notes such as "6 of 12 products sit above your average, and Chicken Roll leads", pulled from the other views and written in everyday words.

Targets

What it means: A goal you set for a number, such as monthly sales.

For you: A progress bar on each number you set a target for, so you can see if you are on track without doing the maths.

Advance

Depth, plus an assistant you can talk to.

Pareto (80/20) view

What it means: In most businesses, a small share of items brings in most of the money. This shows exactly how small.

For you: "Your top 9 of 12 products bring in 85% of sales." Know what to protect, and how exposed you are if one of them stops selling.

Performance Matrix

What it means: Each item plotted on two measures at once, such as how much it earns and how often it sells.

For you: Sorts items into strong on both, weak on both, or mixed. It also shows what each item earns per unit, which reveals popular items that are not pulling their weight.

Promotion Metric

What it means: It compares orders that had a discount with orders that did not.

For you: See whether discounted orders tended to be bigger, which products respond to discounts, and what the discounts cost you. Orders with a promotion are not proof the promotion worked, and we say so.

Loyalty Metric

What it means: How much of your business depends on customers who come back.

For you: "Over half of identified customers are repeat buyers, and they bring most of the revenue." See your best customers, what regulars buy compared with one-time visitors, and how many orders it takes to become a regular. It needs a customer ID in your file.

Calculated columns

What it means: A new column made from two you already have, such as profit = revenue minus cost.

For you: Make your own numbers by picking two columns and an operation. No formulas to learn, and the result shows up everywhere else on your dashboard.

Ask your data

What it means: A chat box where you ask questions in your own words.

For you: "Which product sells best?" gets an answer built from your own numbers, with a chart. If your data cannot answer, it says so instead of guessing. We are widening what it can answer.

Good to know: every view works from the file you upload, so a feature appears only when your data has what it needs. For example, Loyalty needs a customer ID and profit needs a cost column. We describe patterns and never tell you what to do with your money.
